Chet Zar is a special effects make-up artist by day, fine artist by night or any other hour he can steal the time. Chet has worked in FX since high school, near 20 years, and he's kind of sick of it.

The work he has done with the band Tool — make up effects for several of their videos, various promotional artwork and 3D computer animation for their live shows — is his claim to fame. You can find some of that work on Chet's DVD, Disturb the Normal.

Chet Zar also paints digitally and with oils — the preferred method. He also creates 'dark, animated paintings' (as he likes to call them) using Lightwave 3D and Adobe After Effects.
